Mummy got Sainsbury’s “Taste different wholegrain seeded bread flour” for me to bake.
Oh…this is good, daddy, because this flour is already mixed with oats, malted whole-wheat flakes, linseeds, sunflower and pumpkin seeds. Sounds yummy!! Let’s start baking, shall we?
Then, I noticed…..the packet says “Best before Dec 2013”. It is 2014 now.
Mummy got this only a couple of days ago. Why does Sainsbury’s sell out of date things? Mummy thought of taking the flour back but well…it should be OK, so I started baking.
I mixed everything and of course I asked mummy to knead because I didn’t want to get messy paw-paws.
After a while, mummy told me that it was time for the dough to have a rest, so I decided to have a nap-nap with her.
She (the dough) should be kept comfortably warm so Silky’s best friend “Monkey” cuddled her for about an hour or so.
When we woke up it was time for walkies. The dough lady needed another rest so we put her on the sunny windowsill and went to the park to get muddy.
When we came back the dough lady was chubby enough so we put her in the very hot oven for 30 minutes.
It started rising…rising…and rising. I love peeping in the oven all the time when something is rising inside but I was too sleepy to do it after our wild walkies.
When I woke up the bread was already out of the oven and resting.
Oh….my….woof…the fragrance was irresistible but I didn’t lick.
